In an attempt to pull from industry legends like Resident Evil, Bioshock, and Doom, Atomic Heart drinks too much from the well, resulting in an experience that feels disjointed and frustrating. This is incredibly disappointing after experiencing a brilliant opening tutorial. Only the pursuit of an interesting story kept me playing, and by the time the credits rolled, that too was spoiled.
