To follow on from the "Genset Cab ride " video, and , to put my money where my mouth is when it comes to having reliable track work....here is a pair of Athearn RTR SD39-2's switching out the loaded grain cars.
Now....this is done at switching speeds so it won't please everyone ! But the locos have high amounts of momentum and I'm using the F11 brake feature to slow the train. The units are equipped with Soundtraxx Econami 2 decoders and run as well as any Kato or Atlas unit on the layout. These new decoders have Tsunami 2 motor control and other upgraded features.
