Things really never are that easy, huh?
Despite rescuing the head of the rebels, we still have to partake on a fetch quest to obtain some cotton in order to help repair Simsilt's ship so we can cross the sea to reach the Altena church. And, for whatever reason, Noin opts to stay behind to "boost morale." Better not think about that one too deeply.
So Felt gets to enter the Desert of Death on his own, nearly gets killed by a random battle, and then has to deal with a goofy-looking desert angler. Fortunately, a random-passerby who is basically Yosemite Sam as a humanoid DRAGON opts to help out and join our party.
One lengthy expedition into the desert and obtaining the cotton we need later, it's back to the Agito Cove.
And remember, Felt said he'd do all of that for free!

Time for my first seed of a new Randomizer from a game that I thought I knew more than I did. So yeah, theres a lot of salt.
But thats more entertainment for you guys.
Be warned, though, this ones long.
It also starts off with those who joined in co-comms also rolling and running their own seeds, but recording ran so long that they moved on to other projects, so theres some unusual overlap. But I dont mind as this would have had a lot of empty commentary otherwise.

The upside: Arguably the two best characters in the game pairing up and wrecking anything that gets in their way.
The downside: Its no small wonder that Nagino refuses to call Roger Papa as we learn a few things about him in this route that arent just disturbing; theyre outright creepy! No small wonder Nagino says what she does in the thumbnail.

Even though we are Lufia-less, we have no choice but to assault Doom Island directly and fight off even tougher enemies than Maxim and company did in the prologue.
The jokes on Lufia though, because that means more experience for us that she cant have.
But will we really have to fight her ourselves after defeating Gades, Amon, and Daos?

A classic case of, If you cant beat em, join em.
While it may be a bit ominous, its actually a good thing in this case as Emilio is able to cut loose and have some fun while the two solve the incident and even part on good terms at the end.
Plus, pairing up two of the best characters in the game to essentially have no weaknesses between the two make for this to be a very good route overall.

Time for more exposition and a big showdown as, while we catch up with Feena, we also learn Hugos secret objective: to kill his older brother, previously known as The Claw, who betrayed us for the demons.
And, in a battle were supposed to lose... we win!
Not that that changes much as Feena is still taken and we have to return to base to regroup.

I guess we cant blame Daos for wanting to show off a particular ability after waiting nearly 100 years to be able to do so but, as the true final boss, its not really much more difficult than the other Sinistrals courtesy of Jerins Mirror ability.
But what about Lufia in the end?
Why do we have to continue to pay such horrendous prices in the process of saving the world?
Maybe Dual Blades just a big troll though.

I figured this was a good time to revisit the Old Cave and take care of what ends up being its final layer that no one has completed to date- and yet we still find a plethora of empty chests.
Turns out that some of the enemies in there really make us feel like were ill-prepared, but some strategic retreats and choosing our battles leads to victory and cleaning everything out.
The bad news is the equipment haul is actually fairly disappointing compared to other floors.
