One of Atari's 1983 "Enter The Imagination of Atari" series of commercials. This one illustrates the Dig Dug, Kangaroo, and Sorcerer's Apprentice games.
Dig Dug is a faithful port of the Atari Namco arcade game. It was developed by General Computer Corp (GCC) and programmed by Doug Macrae with graphics by Patty Goodson. This is a 16K SARA "SuperChip" game. The main character of Dig Dug has a name in Japan, 'Taizo Hori', a pun based on the phrase 'Horitai zo', or 'I want to dig!'. He is believed to be the father of "Mr. Driller". Planned for a June 1983 release, according to a news blurb in the April 1983 issue of Videogaming Illustrated (pg. 10).
Kangaroo is a decent port of the Atari Sun Electronics Corp. arcade game. It was developed by General Computer Corp (GCC) and programmed by Kevin Osborn and Mike Feinstein with graphics by Patty Goodson. Planned for an April 1983 release, according to a news blurb in the April 1983 issue of Videogaming Illustrated (pg. 10).
Sorcerer's Apprentice is a game based on a scene from Disney's Fantasia movie. It was programmed by Peter C. Niday with graphics by Jerome Domerat.
