About Neeta Madahar
Madahar is an interdisciplinary artist, yoga teacher, and Buddhist meditator. From various perspectives, she investigates notions of truth (i.e., what is real versus perception and the power of observation). Constructions of nature and the play between randomness and order are referenced in her art. She also increasingly draws on neuroscientific research about the brain-mind relationship.
Madahar graduated from Winchester School of Art/the University of Southampton, UK, with a BA Honors in Fine Art (1999) and from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts/Tufts University, Boston, with an MFA in Studio Art (2003). She has exhibited internationally including at the National Science and Media Museum, UK, the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Yale Center for British Art. Her work is held in many collections such as the Government Art Collection, UK, the Fogg Art Museum, the MIT Art Collection, and the Victoria and Albert Museum, UK.
This program is presented through the generosity of the Terry F. Green 1969 Fund for British Art and Culture.
