How does an oceanographer become an astronaut? Find out in this interview with Scripps Institution of Oceanography alumna and NASA astronaut Megan McArthur, who is currently onboard the International Space Station! McArthur earned a PhD in oceanography at Scripps/UC San Diego in 2002. She is currently serving as pilot of the NASA SpaceX Crew-2 mission to the ISS, which launched on April 23, 2021.
