✅ Description✅
Expo 1970 Osaka, held from 15 March 1970 to 13 September 1970,
The first World's Fair held in Asia, its theme was "Progress and Harmony for Mankind." 77 countries participated. It was the largest exposition in history, brilliantly integrating rustic ethnic cultures with cutting-edge technologies such as Apollo lunar modules and robots, all within the framework of abstract art and rooted in the Japanese spirit of harmony.
This world fair was an importante piece in the origin of Japanese video games, At least six videogames were presented.
It was hard to be more futuristic than moving walkways in 1970, but Expo ‘70 certainly tried. There were the giant robots Deme and Deku who made appearances in the Festival Plaza. There was the time capsule in the Matushita (i.e. Panasonic) Pavilion, set to be sealed for 5,000 years; the human washing machine or ultrasonic bath pod in the Sanyo Pavillion; the flight simulator in the Hitachi Pavillion; a moon landing simulator in the IBM pavilion; and an early wireless telephone in the Electronics and Communications Pavilion; not to mention the radically new architecture of the Metabolist movement.
The Fujipan Robot Pavilion was produced by Osamu Tezuka (1928-1989), the father of modern manga and of the first anime in the form of robot boy series Astroboy. He was assisted by Aritsune Toyota (1938-2023).
IBM, the world's leading business computer manufacturer, also participated. The theme was the human role in problem-solving, and the potential and interactivity of computers were clearly demonstrated through games and playful activities using light pens.
Also from the IBM Pavilion. This event displays various options on a screen based on a given theme, which participants select and combine using an electronic pen, and then print out their creation. There are three themes: It's more of a computer game similar to Pico than a video game, but it was so popular that I wanted to introduce it. Manga Creation: This was a huge hit with the kids. Participants choose characters from manga like Astro Boy or Obake no Q-taro, and then create a story by selecting from a list of options.

![FONZ [SEGA] - Arcade - (1976) First Video Game based on a TV character.
Name: Fonz
Developer: SEGA
Year: 1976
Simulation : Not Available
Platform: Arcade
⭐
✅ Description✅
Fonz is a 1976 discrete logic motorcycle racing game produced by Sega using the character of Arthur Herbert Fonzarelli (better known as Fonzie or The Fonz) from the American television show Happy Days. It runs on the Sega Fonz hardware.
It is a re-branded version of Moto-Cross and Man T.T. Like those games, Fonz uses a three-dimensional, third-person perspective, with sprite scaling. The game also uses an 8-track player to playback sound effects, like Moto-Cross and Man T.T.
Fonz was commercially successful in North American arcades during late 1976.
The point of the game is to drive a motorcycle as fast as possible on the track without hitting other bikes or skidding off the road; the player receives 10 points per second at the slowest speed and 10 points per half-second at top speed. Passing 1000 kilometers activates extended play. The game is controlled with a motorcycle handlebar interface; players twist to throttle the engine and crashes causes force feedback on the handlebars. Sound in the game is controlled by a tape deck.
This game is the same as Man T.T. and Moto-Cross; the only difference is in the branding of the Fonz character. It is also similar to Road Race, but with motorbikes rather than cars.

⭐
✅ Description✅
Tornado Baseball is a baseball arcade game which was released by Midway Games in 1976; it runs on an Intel 8080 microprocessor (running at 1.9968 MHz), and was one of the first baseball games to have a lot of players on the field simultaneously. As with Gun Fight, this is a two-player title, and both players will play on the same $0.25 - the pitching player must use one 8-way joystick to select one of eight different pitches, while using a second 2-way joystick, to move the outfielders left and right. The batting player, however, may only use one button to swing his bat; both players will also be using the same set of controls, and they will have to shift left or right every time three outs occur. The number of innings you will receive for one coin depends on how the cabinet is set, but if it is less than nine, you will have to insert another coin if you want to continue with the remaining ones.
This is the first game in the Midway Baseball series. It was followed up by three sequels: Double Play (1977), Extra Inning (1978), and Extra Bases (1980) (the last of which was presented in colour, given that it ran on Midways Astrocade hardware); because Extra Bases also came in a cocktail cabinet as opposed to an upright, the screen would flip to face the pitching player each time three outs occurred.
