What happens when a franchise goes to new developers? Well, you'd expect that there would be some changes from the previous titles, and that is definitely the case with Asterix and the Great Rescue, the first Asterix game to be developed by Core Design. You might think that it's possibly more appropriate for very European franchise like Asterix to be in the hands of a European developer, but just because there might be some cultural significance to the change, does not necessarily mean there was an improvement.
How did things go so wrong? And is there anything of redeeming value here? Well, I try to get to the bottom of that, and yes, it's not all bad. Take a look to find out what they got right!
