The next edition of ASTC On Air will be streamed live online on Thursday, June 25, at 4:00 p.m. ET. This time we’ll be speaking with Jean-Pascal van Ypersele, Vice-Chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and Professor of Climatology and Environmental Sciences at the Université Catholique de Louvain in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium.

ASTC On Air is a new series in which we interview fascinating individuals outside the museum field who are doing work that is relevant and interesting to informal science and museum professionals.

In addition to his work with the IPCC and academia, Jean-Pascal van Ypersele chairs the Energy & Climate Working Group of the Belgian Federal Council for Sustainable Development, is a member of the Belgian Royal Academy, and participates as a science advisor in many United Nations conferences on climate issues, including communication and education. During this edition of ASTC On Air, we’ll be talking to Jean-Pascal about the latest developments in climate research, news from the IPCC, the upcoming COP21 conference in Paris, and what science centers and museums can do to education the public around climate change.
