The pace of change in the energy production industry is significant. Our children and youth need to be energy literate to make good choices as consumers, and most importantly, as tomorrow’s innovators. Energy literacy spans fundamental physics, industrial processes, and environmental topics, to name a few.
Drawing on the expertise of our science center and museum members, this site provides teachers and families with a portal to concrete resources and activities that will help provide children and youth with a solid grounding in understanding energy and its role in society.
The Association of Science-Technology Centers (ASTC) and the Museum Institute for Teaching Science (MITS), in partnership with BP America, are teaming up to provide resources for teachers, parents, and children around energy topics that meet widely used curricula including the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).
