A* or A-star search implemented in Processing/Java. The 'maze' is randomly generated as are the start and goal points.
Most of the work was from 2008 but I hadn't until now made any videos of it, the source code is available on github.com/lucasw/binarymillenium/blob/master/processing/astar/astar.pde
(There used to be an embedded applet linked from code.google.com/p/binarymillenium/wiki/AStarSearch before google archived google code)
I think there are cases where it won't choose a slightly shorter path but I may have gotten most of those.
