Winter hiking is here and we just touched down in one of the most beautiful places in the U.S. for winter snowshoeing - Aspen, Colorado! Smuggler Mountain is the most popular hike in Aspen for a reason, and in winter it's even more special because hikers can loop Smuggler with a snowshoe around and down to Hunter Creek. The Smuggler to Hunter Creek snowshoe loop is the perfect hike for just about anyone - if you're looking for a shorter hike most people can complete the loop in a few hours, but if you're looking for a longer hike there are essentially endless offshoot trails that you can take once you've reached the top of Smuggler. Just make sure to bring a pair of snowshoes and a good map of the Aspen hiking trail system!
