Analysts warn that Asian exports to the U.S. could sharply decline in the coming quarters as U.S. tariffs eventually push up prices on imported goods, affecting American consumer demand.

As an example, according to ING, Japan’s exports spiked in the first quarter amid trade “front-loading,” but experienced a “significant technical correction” in the second quarter.
