Spicy news for Buldak fans in the U.S. 🔥: Trump's proposed 15% tariff on South Korean imports mean higher prices for the popular instant noodles, which are exclusively imported into the States by Samyang Foods.
A spokesperson for the spicy noodle brand told chief markets correspondent Lisa Kim, “Price hikes on certain products look to be inevitable.”
Right now, a five-pack of noodles sells for around $7, and the U.S. is a major market for the company, accounting for over 20% of their sales last year.
But despite possible price hikes, the Buldak craze isn’t cooling off. The brand just teamed up with Panda Express, a chain of Chinese-style fast food restaurants, and even U.S. rapper Cardi B said she drove 30 minutes just to grab a pack.
