Schematic overview of how the unit was originally wired, as well as how I plan to rewire it, and tearing the unit down.
After doing some research on Advance Schools, Inc, my guess that this tester was a kit that someone constructed is correct.
ASI was a home study educational institution which provided instruction in various vocations, including electronics. They utilized kits that were produced by Heath (Heathkit), as well as others, apparently. It would be interesting to come across the course guide in which this tester was featured. I also have a couple other ASI testers that were purchased along with this one. I'm curious (and somewhat afraid) to see if they were constructed any better than the Vac-U-Tronic.
