Glimpse how Hiroshi Senju and Bingyi created the two paintings in our exhibition Into the Waters as these internationally known artists describe their unique artistic practices. Hear in their own words how they approach art-making and what they try to express in their work, including themes of time, memory, survival, and creativity. They also discuss some of their inspirations from Japanese and Chinese art, and they explain how they see themselves in conversation with each other and the museum.

This video is featured in the exhibition Into the Waters with Senju and Bingyi: Two Contemporary Paintings: https://asia.si.edu/whats-on/exhibitions/into-the-waters/
