The largest invertebrate animal lived in Europe and North America about 300 million years ago at the end of the Carboniferous and the beginning of the Permian periods. According to various estimates, the giant centipede Arthropleurus could reach a length of 30 centimeters to 2.5 meters. Its articular body consisted of 30 segments, each of which had a pair of legs. Despite the completely creepy appearance, this creature could be quite harmless. The fact is that not a single fragment of the oral apparatus of Arthropleura has yet fallen into the hands of scientists. There is evidence that there are traces of pollen inside the remains found. Therefore, it is possible that she was a herbivore, or at least an omnivore.
