Welcome back! Today we’re continuing our way through the novels of Andy Weir, and discussing his second and most overlooked book, Artemis.

Artemis is a very different novel to the Martian. It received a lot of mixed reviews at the time of release because it didn’t live up to the hype. And yes, I think it is the weakest of the three Weir novels, with some flaws. But I also think it’s a great little novel that works on its own.

The story is about the first moon base, a small city with 2000 people. It follows Jasmine, a citizen of the moon who is an illegal smuggler, and we explore the criminal underbelly and classist inequality.
