Arnold Rothstein nicknamed "The Brain" flourished in a time of jazz, flappers, and prohibition. Rothstein is the man who built a criminal empire from the ground up. A mastermind, he capitalized on the illegal liquor trade and was a mentor to Lucky Luciano, Meyer Lansky, Frank Costello and Bugsy Siegel.

Rothstein allegedly fixed the World Series of 1919. But Rothstein wasn't your typical gangster. He was a businessman, a gambler, and genius in his own right. He played the game of life like a high-stakes poker match, and for a while, he was winning.

However, like all gambles, luck eventually runs out. Rothstein was fatally shot in nineteen twenty-eight, leaving behind a legacy that would shape the underworld for decades to come. In the end, he was just a man who played the game too well.
