In Arizona, Diné activist Klee Benally works to protect land, water and community in the face of uranium contamination, cultural appropriation and the loss of traditional ties. For him, defending Mother Earth is not only political. It is spiritual, ancestral and rooted in responsibility.
Through street outreach, youth workshops, art, ceremonies and community organizing, Klee helps rebuild the bonds of K’é, the Diné system of kinship and mutual care. His work connects generations, reminding young people that identity is not only inherited. It must be practiced, protected and passed on.
