Argonne National Laboratory | Argonne OutLoud: Argonne's Impact on COVID-19 @ArgonneLab | Uploaded 4 years ago | Updated 3 minutes ago
From the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Argonne National Laboratory has been tackling key challenges the virus presents.

On May 19, a live virtual audience listened-in as three of the Lab’s scientific leaders shared the research, analysis, and discoveries underway at Argonne that is contributing to the global war against COVID-19.

Stephen K. Streiffer described how his team is conducting critical research to develop treatments and a vaccine. Rick Stevens showed how his team is using supercomputers to narrow down the potential treatments that can be tested in a lab. Chick Macal described the process of creating epidemiological models that can inform civic leaders as they determine how and when to revise public health policies and interventions.

Featured speakers:

Stephen K. Streiffer, Interim Deputy Laboratory Director for Science, Associate Laboratory Director for Photon Sciences, and Director of the Advanced Photon Source

Rick L. Stevens, Associate Laboratory Director for Computing, Environment and Life Sciences

Dr. Charles M. “Chick” Macal, Argonne Distinguished Scientist & Social, Behavioral, and Decision Science Group Leader
