Hi-Intensity Damnation gameplay on Refinery Delta-17 using the Kantrael Mk IX Combat Shotgun and Antax Mk V Combat Axe.
Shotguns quite fun to use when you're up-close with the enemy, yet they feel pointless in the game when melee weapons are so powerful. The secondary fire, for the Kantrael variant at least, is simply a novelty. It looks very cool but that is seemingly the only purpose that it serves. You can only load 1 fire shell per shot and it takes a decent whack of time to do it once or consistently.
If there is going to be a weapon that is only optimal up-close such as a shotgun, it needs to reward you for doing so, as gap-closing can get horrible in a lot of situations in this game.
Have my trusty Antax Mk V with me during this run, and I do sometimes end up just putting the shotgun away to use the Axe instead.
