In my years of exposure to Christianity, I've run into many strange things. Perhaps the weirdest is the proposition that Pokemon are demonic - and in fact a satanic conspiracy to introduce kids to the occult, witchcraft, and so on. Because I know so little about Pokemon myself, I brought over an expert, Suris, to help me delve into this topic. In this video (and part 2 on Suris' channel) we discuss not only this wacky idea, but the underlying Christian doctrine and Evangelical neurosis about sheltering/controlling children that drives it. Because as fringe as this idea is, it's rooted in deep-seated aspects of Christianity.
