Victor Arden and Phil Ohman met while they were both employed for the QRS Piano Roll Company. They became a team and together produced piano roll duets and performed in vaudeville and clubs. This 1921 recording is the first that they made for the Victor record company. In their piano duets, Ohman played the upper registers and Arden played the lower registers. In 1924 they were both hired to play in the pit orchestra for the Gershwin musical "Lady be Good" and they continued with several more Gershwin productions through the 1920s. Eventually they formed their own orchestra and performed on radio and made recordings as "Arden & Ohman and their Orchestra." They continued to be active into the 1930s when they broke up to lead their own orchestras.
