Students from CEU’s Historical Studies Department visited the Open Society Archives in Budapest to explore how archives support historical research, teaching, and thesis work. During the visit, students learned how the archive operates, discovered its extensive collections covering the second half of the 20th century to the present, and explored the many ways these materials can be accessed and used.

This visit demonstrates how archival work becomes a living part of historical inquiry at Central European University, supporting students as they transform documents into meaningful research and scholarship.
