Learn about the winning project of the AR House awards 2024, designed by Manuel Cervantes Estudio in Mexico.

Manuel Cervantes presents his office’s post-hurricane houses project, followed by a Q&A chaired by The Architectural Review’s editors.

Designed for Acapulco residents who were displaced in 2023 by Hurricane Otis, the houses feature flexible plans designed for future extension through a system of prefabricated panels. More than 40 have been constructed so far, with many more yet to complete.

Featuring two of the awards’ judges, Stella Daouti and Mike Tonkin.
