Learn about the winning project of the 2024 AR Public awards, Dún Laoghaire Baths designed by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown (DLR) Architects Department and A2 Architects.
Peter Carroll from A2 Architects along with Andrée Dargan and Sarah Clifford from DLR Architects Department presenedt their redevelopment of the Dún Laoghaire Baths.
Originally built in 1843, the site has seen the restoration of a pavilion, a new jetty featuring in-built seating, a changing canopy, a refurbished Edwardian gazebo and a new walkway from Newtownsmith. This public space facilitates sea bathing, water sports and events, connecting residents with the Irish Sea.
Joined by the AR Public awards judges Ricky Burdett, Aziza Chaouni and Günther Vogt.
