This is one of my top 10 apples. Highly recommended as a well flavoured, crisp long keeping fruit which in my experience so far seems a good reliable cropper. I also think it is beautiful although those who prefer a perfect shiny finish may disagree.

VERY rare. Not even mentioned in most books. I will have some scion wood to send out to subscribers in Europe (sorry not Asia or America) for grafting in February.

Said to have been raised by a Mr Hayward of Worcester and registered at the National Fruit Trials in 1924. Mentioned approvingly by Edward Bunyard in 'the Anatomy of Dessert'.
