The system is much faster with the IDE disk!
The enclosure on top of the Lisa is a recycled SuperMac SCSI box. It now contains a Quantum IDE drive, and one of Patrick Schäfer's IDEFile converters. This lets the Lisa use a modern IDE drive on one of its parallel ports.

The MS Surface to the right of the Lisa is connected to the serial terminal of the IDEFile, you can see status messages print when the Lisa resets the disk.
