Each year three gorgeous crabapple trees bloom in our yard. This year I decided that something needed to be done with their aromatic blossoms.

This Blossom Syrup is easy to make and adds a delicious floral taste to any beverage.

Fill a quart jar with crabapple blossoms. Check them carefully for bugs. You can also rinse them before adding to the jar.

You can use any color apple blossoms. I have white and pink blooming trees, but chose the pink since it adds a pretty pink color to the finished syrup.

Fill your quart jar with boiling water and stir. Let this sit for four hours.

Next, strain out your flowers. I used a tea infuser to do this because it is a very fine mesh.

Add your infused blossom water to a pot and add equal parts sugar (I had three cups of water = 3 cups sugar). Heat on medium until the sugar is dissolved.

Once cooled, add to your favorite beverage and enjoy! I mixed with lemonade.

Store in the fridge. I plan on making some into ice cubes for long-term storage.
