Switzerland - we've dreamed of going to this beautiful country since the time we were kids and when the trip actually happened, it felt totally surreal! The image of Switzerland that the 2 of us have had is of the endless rolling green meadows, sharp jagged mountains rising out of the earth, chubby cows dotting the landscape, and the canton of Appenzell Innerrhoden gave us all those visuals and so much more!
Appenzell is an adorable little town straight out of a movie! We made this our base for almost a week. While we were there we got to see the bringing home of the cattle for the winter.
Hiking in the Swiss Alps has also been on our bucket list since forever and Appenell offers endless trails at all levels for everyone! We took the gondola up to Ebenalp from where we had planned to cover 2 different trails.
Trail 1 - Ebenalp - Wildkirchli - Berggasthaus Aescher - Ebenalp
Trail 2 - Ebenalp - Berggasthaus Schäfler - Altenalp - Seealpsee
