To celebrate reaching 4000 likes over on Facebook (facebook.com/scalewarmachines), here's a new video tutorial about an amazingly versatile product from Aves, Apoxie Sculpt. We show you how to sculpt your own tarpaulins for vehicles or tanks.
You can also use Apoxie Sculpt for a whole gamut of scale modelling techniques including: filling, sculpting or adapting figures, weld seams, surface details, bespoke accessories and so on.
This is a two-part putty which is mixed in equal quantities that is available in a range of colours - with more colour hues available through inter-mixing. It dries rock hard and won’t flake or crumble when dry, even if drilled, tapped or lathed. It is a cross between a clay and an epoxy so it has some adhesive power whilst retaining the texture of a putty. Use with the Aves Safety Solvent to bring out the best of this product.
