An animatic sketch of the ending to a story I thought of 2 years ago. I probably will never draw or write it fully out. Dunno.
Anyway, so the boy in the animatic is confronting Ameil, the Incitatiocat, in his vengeful spirit form, which the boy's tribe call Manstryki. The tribe has a coming of age ceremony which lead young boys of age to go into the Vertigo woods to hunt an Incitatiocat, which they will tear off its beetle shell and wings from its back, to use as their shield. The flowers in vertigo woods, Memorphmesis, absorbs the blood of the slaughtered creatures and rebirths them into vengeful spirits which go after the tribe.
Because the tribe are attacked by Manstryki, they kill Incitatiocats for shields, making a cycle of murder and poaching. Ameil had met the boy when he saw the kiddo fall off the tree while trying to explore the evacuated Incitatiocat nests. Ameil catches him and drop him off on the ground safely. Later on the boy begins to grow a friendly bond with Ameil before one of the hunters from his tribe follows them and takes the chance to kill Ameil while the boy is distracting him.
The boy finds out that if a Memorphmesis flower, with the shell of the Incitatiocat, are returned to the vengeful spirit, they return to their former selves.
