But what really makes the game stand out is the gameplay.
Fast-paced, chaotic, and surprisingly ahead of its time, Apocalypse feels like a twin-stick shooter before that style was even standard. You’re constantly moving, dodging, and blowing up everything on screen, with destructible environments and nonstop action.
It’s not perfect — the camera can be rough — but it’s one of those PS1 games that tried something different and got completely overlooked.
