An exquisite marble statue that's long been part of the collection at the Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Firenze was recently restored by the charitable association Friends of Florence; in the process, restorers and researchers were able to confirm definitively that it depicts Aphrodite, Greek goddess of beauty.
