Translated lyrics on screen, song with 720p (HD). This song is about the conquest of Lisbon in 1147 by the mighty 1st portuguese king "The Conqueror" Afonso Henriques, with help of his soldiers and help of the crusaders that were passing by on the second crusade.
The conquest of Lisbon was known by events such as the Knight Martim Moniz, that sacrificed himself so that the portuguese army could breach the city, he died crushed between the gates of the fortress, and thanks to him we breached the city. While moors were leaving from the gates to fight the portuguese troops, he saw the opurtunity and sacrificed himself.
Another legend, considered a myth, is the Battle of Sacavém. It happened near a old roman bridge, where a army of 1500 portuguese soldiers including the King itself, faced an army of 5000 moors. They killed 3000 and the rest drown in the river or was made prisioner.
