As the presidential debate took place in Atlanta Thursday night, a coalition of pro-Palestine, anti-capitalist, and anti-fascist protesters gathered in a park blocks away spoke out in a protest originally billed "STOP THE DEBATE."

"We know to well that a choice between imperialist pigs is not a choice at all!"

The first speaker reflected on lessons learned from 2020, celebrating victories like "police stations and department stores in flames."

"But ultimately we fell short. We lacked the organizational militancy to engage in long-term turf wars and achieve real demands, and the movement fizzled."

"We should prepare ourselves for the high likelihood of a Trump presidency. This is nothing to be afraid of. In fact, this is everything we need to legitimize our struggle," the speaker went on to explain that this is a opportunity to form coalitions and organize.

One speaker discouraged infighting among left wing activists "over small ideological differences."

He describes historic success by uniting "organizers, activists, social justice organizers, revolutionary nationalists, anarchists, communists, socialists, environmentalists."

Let's be clear that this is not a peaceful protest," one speaker explained.

They celebrated that in 2020, "Much like the Palestinian youth of the first Intifada, the Black youth of Atlanta rose up in an insurrection against the state that subjugates them under the boot of racist, colonial apartheid."

"We take our queues from the organized armed struggles that have led the people's war against US empire."

"The first thing we must do is destroy the left's dependency on the Democratic Party" they added, calling it "the number one enemy of revolutionary activity."

They condemn Biden for his history on mass incarceration and Palestine.

"We will burn it down and take what's ours in the streets. That isn't an empty threat, it's a promise."

"We don't have the force to do the thing that we wanted to do. We don't have the ability to shut down the debate. We don't have the ability to have a giant meaningful clash with the police on these streets," the final speaker explained.

"That doesn't mean that we're not part of this guerrilla war."

"I wish that we coulda walked into that debate and cut both their [Trump and Biden] heads off," the final speaker concluded.

"We don't have the force of strength that we need to interrupt the debate, so we're gonna disperse."

"Regroup, resist, we will not stop, we will not rest!" chanted the crowd.
