Worcester Massachusetts Police said they will comment Monday on a video that surfaced on social media Sunday.
Two short video clips posted on Facebook appear to show police officers arresting two men near a white pickup truck in a parking lot on Southbridge Street.
One clip shows a subject struggle with an officer who takes the man to the ground as the officer begins to punch him in the head before the video stops.
The second video shows two men lying on the ground with two officers restraining them. An officer punches one of the men in the head while another runs over and begins repeatedly punching the same man in the head. Other officers rush to the scene with a total of six officers restraining the two men before the video stops.
The police log shows two men were arrested on Southbridge Street overnight. Zachary Lugo, 27, of Rutland, was arrested at 241 Southbridge St. and charged with trespassing, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace. Mitchell Lugo, 23, of Worcester, was charged with the same offenses, along with one count of a civil rights violation, also at 241 Southbridge St.
The Riviera Show Club is located at 241 Southbridge St.
Scanner reports indicated several officers were called to the club’s parking lot just before 2 a.m. Sunday.
