Just happened to see this one out on the curb on my way home today, and it's not even trash day!
This vacuum cleaner is a Hoover Model 63, serial # A1227512. The 63's were only produced between 1953 and 1956, so quite a rare model compared to the later Convertibles.
My assumption is that this machine was rebuilt at some time in the past, due to the DVC outer bag, possibly a replacement cord, and the motor which spins so smoothly it doesn't even seem to have drag from the brushes.
The underside is in excellent condition, but the topside needs some TLC. Usually it's the other way around. As a bonus, the headlight even works!
