Jazz at Lincoln Center’s 2022–23 concert season is all about exploring the global community of jazz.
Take a global tour through The House of Swing beginning with a U.S. premiere of Wynton Marsalis’s The Shanghai Suite performed by the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, followed by a celebration of towering Cuban pianist and composer Chucho Valdes’s 81st Birthday, a musical journey paying tribute to guitarist-composer Django Reinhardt by guitarist Stéphane Wrembel, a JLCO with Wynton Marsalis performance featuring iconic Iraqi oud virtuoso Naseer Shamma, and world premiere music by Colombian harpist Edmar Castaneda and Cuban pianist Elio Villafranca performed by the JLCO with special guest Paquito D’Rivera. Plus, performances by Rosa Passos with NEA Jazz Masters Kenny Barron and Ron Carter, Dee Dee Bridgewater and Kurt Elling, returning favorites Steve Miller, Dianne Reeves, and Cécile McLorin Salvant, and much more!
