This dresser came from her husband’s family home, which was only a couple of yards away. It was stripped about 25 years ago but had been painted various colours over time — ‘duckety’ blue, red, and a dark oak stain. There were twelve in the family, and it originally belonged to Tom and Brigid Walsh, Tom’s parents.
The jugs on top were bought years ago with jam in them. The anniversary teapot in the center was a gift to her and Tom for their 25th wedding anniversary. The large plates are used at Christmas time for the turkey, while the plates on top were a wedding gift when they married in September 1961.
