Here is a 52 minute interview I conducted with 103 year old Dote O'Neill in her home in Castledockrell on the 20th of April 2026.
This interview captures the remarkable life of Dote O’Neill, born in April 1923 and raised on a farm in Kilrush in north Wexford. She recalls a childhood defined by hard work, family loss, and strong faith. She lost her father when she was a baby and her mother raised the family and ran the farm.
Despite the hardships, she remembers a happy life filled with community, music, dancing, and deep religious devotion.
