Performance was rough in spots even on a 5090, which I honestly wasn’t expecting. It’s not just a random hitch here and there either. It’s pretty bad but limited to cut scenes. It did seem to get better when changing DLSS to balanced from quality. Still concerning on a 5090.
I really wish this had voice acting. The world looks great, but the silence makes a lot of the characters feel flat. Even basic VO would add a ton. Greetings, quest lines, combat callouts. Anything to make it feel less like I’m just reading prompts.
Mouse sensitivity felt weird the whole time. Something about it feels off, like acceleration or the curve isn’t right.
I’m glad the UI isn’t completely obsessed with red dot notifications, but they’re still there. It’s still the same issue where you end up digging through menus trying to figure out what tiny tab is triggering it. Half the time it’s something you don’t care about, but it still pulls your attention until you clear it.
My bigger concern is the usual open world problem. Busy work. Right now it’s fine because everything is new, but those games always hit a point where you’re just clearing icons and doing chores. I hope this keeps enough variety in the loop that it doesn’t turn into autopilot once the novelty wears off.
That said, the game is beautiful and the music is beautiful. The vibe is doing a lot of heavy lifting in a good way.
Overall though, I like the game so far. The core gameplay is clicking for me and I actually want to keep going. Most of my complaints are “this could be better” not “this is bad.”
Sorry for the 2 hour video. I aim for 1 hour, but sometimes I get rolling and it just turns into a whole session. Also, sorry if I sound half dead. I was really tired when I recorded this and you can probably tell.
I will be streaming this later.
