This short film took over two years to complete as it was originally begun in late 2019 / early 2020 when things became a little chaotic across the world. Finally, we got to meet Desmond, a font of knowledge on the lough, the lights, the lighthouse, ships and local economies. Desmond was a Lighthouse keeper, a sailor and a lifeboatman at Portaferry and is still actively involved in the family shipping business which involves every current generation of the Rogers. There will definitely be another Irelandscapes outing with this remarkable man.
