A trip to a 19C abandoned harbour which was purchased and restored to a working facility for boat owners and completed circa 2014. This required much dredging and wall restoration. There are superb views here out to sea of the shipping traffic for Belfast Lough and as one climbs the steep road up round the headland, views across the lough as far as Scrabo Tower which itself overlooks Strangford Lough.
The harbour is available for private mooring by boat owners and also for functions like weddings, thanks to it's carpark and extended grounds behind protective limestone walls. More information is available on the website whiteharbour.org.
