Heavenly armies of light descendeth, swords and shields and halos bright!
by command the shepherds follow, to make way to the Savior nigh.

They found the Child near His Mother, sleeping.
Then She with noble gesture bade, to come closer, She whispered sweetly.
Then He awoke and His blessing gave!

Though a Babe, no words were spoken yet His Soul through His Eyes did say,
"I am the Life and the Resurrection, and thy debt, have I come to pay!"
