They are the countless citizens of Heaven. From time to time, they reveal themselves to humanity as God's messengers. Yet, the dozens of biblical references to them show that they are far from a generalized, uniform society of beings. They fall into different classes, having different forms, purposes and callings. Some are very close to God's inner circle; some are named as heroes, while others are the unsung faithful; some are wicked, and a few are the very distillation of evil. Once, called Satan, represents the greatest of all evils.
