Happy 14th anniversary, MOTHER 3! Tazmilly as a village was so well written that almost felt like a character too, seeing it grow bigger and bigger until the people just left it forever, with this song playing, was heartbreaking.
To me it feels like that one village I used to visit in my summers when I was a child, eventually year after year lots of friends and people wouldn't come anymore, myself included. Also reminds me to some (now dead) online communities. Invest well your time and treasure those moments pals, nothing lasts forever.

Also a pretty cool arrangement. I really like how it condenses all the variations of SwShs Gym Leader theme (aside from the one that plays when you select a Pokémon after losing one) in a shorter track, although I think in this case I kinda lean to the game version, its just too good.
Loop would probably sound better if I just looped the last segment like in the games, but itd be a crime to not listen to the first two versions anymore :c

I miss Iwata so, so much. He didnt really contribute to the first MOTHER, but he would eventually save EarthBound from development hell and became the president of Nintendo, among many other fantastic contributions. But more importantly than that, he just seemed like a genuine good person who felt very close and I looked up to, and will always do.
Eight Melodies talks about the importance of love and music and how theyre a universal language that can help people from all over the world (and beyond in the case of this game lel) and different cultures bond. Its as simple as can be, but I think its a message even more important today than it was 30 years ago, when it was composed.
