I miss Iwata so, so much. He didn't really contribute to the first MOTHER, but he would eventually save EarthBound from development hell and became the president of Nintendo, among many other fantastic contributions. But more importantly than that, he just seemed like a genuine good person who felt very close and I looked up to, and will always do.
"Eight Melodies" talks about the importance of love and music and how they're a universal language that can help people from all over the world (and beyond in the case of this game lel) and different cultures bond. It's as simple as can be, but I think it's a message even more important today than it was 30 years ago, when it was composed.

Only took me like 3 years to extend another PaRappa 2 song. I guess the reason I skipped this one is because I didnt like it as much. Dont get me wrong, it *is* pretty good, but it had the bad luck to be in the same game with total bangers such as Toasty Buns, Big or Hair Scare. But I had to listened to it a lot while extending it and typing the subs, and it has grown a lot on me, and the reference to Stage 2 of the first game is pretty cool.
Now I can finally extend Food Court without feeling bad because I skipped this one c:
