Inspired by the vintage 1930s style in the film Sinners, I jokingly started this video saying the Oscar should go to me for making this bag from pillow covers… but let’s be honest, the real winner is Michael B Jordan for his role in the movie.
This bag actually started with a pair of thick embroidered pillow covers I found at Goodwill. The fabric already had that old world vintage look, so I thought it would be perfect for creating a 1930s inspired handbag.
What surprised me most was how easy the bag came together. The embroidery and texture already did most of the work, and the final result really looks like something that could belong in a vintage film scene.
Movie inspiration… a Goodwill find… and a sewing machine. Not a bad combination.
